A Small Tractor and A Massive Wall of Snow

A Small Tractor and A Massive Wall of Snow
“After a strong start to the season, on December 1 the skies cleared for a rare opportunity to heli-drop out of Squamish, BC, and ski tour high above Howe Sound. Tom Peiffer found playful hits and wind-sculpted features in this rarely skied landscape, one of the most unique in the Coast Mountains. The snow was surprisingly deep for December, and thanks to the short days, we were treated to hours of golden light—sunrise and sunset melting into one. A photographer’s dream.” Photo: Guy Fattal

“The guy who owns this old police station was so stoked he even rented a small tractor to help us build. The tractor was great for other features, but for this massive wall it was not enough. So, the guy asked some friends to pull up at 6 a.m. with a bigger tractor to finish the landing. After our session, we got a guided tour around the station’s old nuclear shelters and shooting tracks.” Photo: Arttu Heikkinen

“Mattias Hargin during a February warm-up run in Engelberg, Switzerland. We were battling the clouds and weren’t sure if we would get any sun at all that day, but luckily we had a window in the morning to get this run in before the clouds rolled in for good.” Photo: Oskar Enander
