Before the Use of Helmets

“Aaron McGovern, Tahoe local, big mountain extreme skier and coach at Palisades Tahoe jumps over Highway 40 on Donner Pass, CA, circa January 1998. The Highway 40 road gap has been a zone for extreme skiers and snowboarders for years, and we were here shooting alongside the Jones brothers. The exact spot varies according to snow level, and it needs to have a perfect takeoff and landing. This was a high snow year in Tahoe, and we hit it just right. As you can see, this was before the use of helmets.”
