“On a rare sunny day in Hokkaido, David Kantermo skis off the summit of Shiribetsu, a peak between Rusutsu and Niseko, overlooking the iconic Mount Yotei. After numerous trips to Japan with very little sunshine, it was a unique experience to enjoy both powder snow and spectacular views. The next day, it began to snow and didn’t stop until we left two weeks later.” Photo: Mattias Fredriksson

“Our Calgary, AB, trip was winding down. It was December and still freezing in the city, but the concrete-like snow was hard to build with—and the wind chill made falling miserable. Willy ‘Sundance’ Griffith and I built an in-run across the flats of a playground for speed. He must have hiked this for over four hours before getting his trick.” Photo: Josh Bishop

“Tom Wallisch and Evan McEachran were in Toronto, ON, for an event in February when a record storm hit. We had a trip planned through Maine and Nova Scotia the following day, but canceled it to stay in the city. Walking around an apartment complex, we found a down rail with a 40-foot drop on one side. It was too cluttered to shoot from above, so I shot laid on my back with my head against a brick wall.” Photo: Josh Bishop
