Burning Desire

Jean-Sébastien Chartier-Plante
After studying graphic design and working at a global advertising agency in Quebec City, Jean-Sébastien Chartier-Plante decided to answer the call of the mountains. He dropped his steady job, and moved to Canmore, AB, to live in the heart of the Canadian Rockies where adventure and landscape photography became both a passion and career. He’s since moved back to the East Coast, where you’ll find him trying to teach his kids how to belay at the local crag. Follow him on Instagram at @jschpphoto.

Tony Harrington
The films produced by Greg Stump and Jack McCoy spurned Tony Harrington’s burning desire to travel the world on a never-ending journey. In 1986, Harrington swapped an electrician’s tool belt for camera equipment and has been on the road documenting the parallel worlds of big wave surfing and big mountain freeriding ever since. During the Australian winter he can be found in his gallery in the heart of Mt. Buller Alpine Resort. The other eight months of the year he’s off chasing and documenting adventures, storms and dreams. Follow along on Instagram at @harroart.

Leslie Hittmeier
Over the last decade, Leslie Hittmeier has found her place in the mountains, often with a camera in hand. She works with both stills and motion alongside some of the world’s best adventure sports athletes, documenting skiers and snowboarders on consequential lines in the Tetons, powder pillows in Japan, steep couloirs in Chamonix and most notably a first descent in Alaska’s Fairweather Range. She lives with her husband Ben and daughter Marlo in Red Lodge, MT. See more of Leslie’s work on Instagram @lesliehittmeier.

Jake Stern
Jake Stern grew up in Washington, D.C. knowing little-to-nothing about skiing. He took a chance on a gig waiting tables at Alta, UT, after college and never looked back. An editor and a writer, he has served stints editing at Powder, Freeskier and Outside, settling six years ago in Mammoth Lakes, CA, as a boot fitter and freelance journalist. He climbs and skis the Eastern Sierra backcountry with his wife Rita, taking photos and chasing the perfect pizza dough and the next exciting project.

Tess Weaver
Tess Weaver is a lifelong skier who grew up ski racing in the wind, fog and freezing rain of Oregon’s Mount Bachelor. She’s been appreciating bluebird, low-moisture powder days in Aspen, CO, since 2010, and now shares her love for mountains, skiing and ski culture with her 12-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter. For 20 years Tess worked as a writer and editor for Powder Magazine and Freeskier, and now works for Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club, a non-profit founded in 1937 that serves 3,000 children and provides scholarships and transportation to make winter sports more accessible.
