Every niche of skiing has its own Super Bowl. For freeride, it’s the Freeride World Tour in Verbier, Switzerland. Downhill skiing has the Hahnenkamm in Kitzbühel, Austria. Freestyle skiing has the X Games in Aspen, CO. And for skijoring, the Ridgeway, CO, skijoring event is the crown jewel.
In the latest video from the Jim and Mads Show, Ryan and Ostergren, travel to Colorado's San Juans to try and secure a top spot in Ridgeway, known in the skijoring community as the world’s most prestigious skijoring competition.

Skijoring is more than just holding on tight. Jim Ryan puts in some serious technique at the Ridgeway, CO, competition.
Versatility is a word the two Jackson, WY-based skiers throw around a lot. With a background in ski racing and a penchant for massive ski mountaineering lines, the throughline of Ryan and Ostergren’s ski career is progression and curiosity. The two are seemingly determined to leave their mark on every subset of the sport as they transition from fast resort laps to alpine objectives to the skijoring circuit in the mountain west. With money on the line and fast-paced runs, there are no guarantees in skijoring—but comfort with speed and airtime are definitely a bonus. In Ridgeway, Jim and Mads give it their all with the hopes of taking home a coveted belt buckle.

Madison Ostergren keeps it cool in the air in Ridgeway.
